Perhaps like never before, we’re all looking forward to a year drawing to a close! 2020 has been all kinds of “extra” and I think most of us are eagerly anticipating the beginning of 2021. You know who else is jumping on that bandwagon? The United Nations. That’s right, they’ve declared 2021 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. I think that’s a theme we can all get behind and this unique New Year’s Tablescape centers around the idea of peace. Join me to gather some party decor inspiration to kick of your new year…
New Year’s has always been one of my favorite holidays and times of year. It’s a time to look back on all the good from the past year (because there were good moments, I promise!) and also consider your biggest hopes and dreams for the year to come. This time of year just feels different, doesn’t it?! I love the idea of including peace and trust in my wishes for 2021, because man, we need that right now more than ever!
Before we take a look at this lovely tablescape, if there’s only one thing you do to celebrate the New Year this year, I want you to dream. And to help you do that, be sure to download a copy of our New Year’s 21 Goals for 2021 Worksheet! It will help you keep track of your dreams and goals and then at the end of 2021, you’ll be able to quickly look back and celebrate all the things that came to fruition in your life! So download it now and then, keep reading…
New Year’s Table Decor Ideas
Building on the United Nations theme of Peace and Trust, Kathryne from Grace and Virtue Events, centered her tablescape on the beautiful peace lily! These tropical plants are an ideal centerpiece and focal point for your table (plus you can reuse them and enjoy them all year long or give them away to your guests as party favors)! Opting for a color palette of green, gold and white, the plants placed in small white planters down the center of the table look absolutely delightful.
The dinner table was set with a velvet green tablecloth and topped with geometric gold charger plates and festive white and gold dinner plates (you can find similar charger plates and dinner plates here).
Additional elements on the table included acrylic name cards with each guest’s name gracefully written in gold calligraphy. You can find similar name cards and stands here – these are great because they’re neutral and can be reused for other holidays and events. You’ll also notice gold tassels at each place setting, which could be used as fun napkin rings, gold votive candle holders and martini glasses filled with Ferrero Rocher candies, a holiday staple!
And of course, you can’t have a New Year’s party without party hats, party poppers and champagne! Big Dot of Happiness has some fun black and gold party hats for 2021 to add to your celebration! And grab your New Year’s Eve Confetti Poppers from EnFete because they are perfect for this theme and super fun at midnight! Finally, dress up your decor with a fancy bottle of champagne or sparkling wine like this gorgeous glitter bottle from One Hope (this tastes amazing btw)! Can’t find a pretty bottle? Add gold glitter flakes to your cocktails like we did here!
New Year’s Dessert Ideas
Can you really call it a party if you don’t serve dessert? I don’t think so! And this stunning white cake, topped with an elegant lily created by Chrisbeth Cakes & Events is absolutely perfect for the Peace and Trust in 2021 theme, don’t you think? And how ideal is that custom gold glitter cake topper from Just Top It Shop?
I also love serving classic party foods in unexpected ways – it adds a little bit of whimsy to your party. Serving your cupcakes in martini glasses like they did here is a great way to achieve that goal – simple, elegant and fun!
I hope you gathered some elegant ideas for your New Year’s Tablescape from this peaceful theme for 2021! Don’t forget to grab a copy of the New Year’s 21 Goals for 2021 Worksheet too! Happy New Year!
