Get out your red, white and blue because it’s time to plan a gorgeous festive table for your 4th of July Party! Whether you’re hosting friends and family for a pool party, backyard BBQ, fireworks and ice cream or some combination of those three, we have some easy, yet beautiful ideas for Independence Day Table Decor and Centerpieces! Take a look…
One of my favorite events to host every year is our 4th of July pool party! It’s always a fun and relaxing day with our family gathered around, playing, grilling and laughing poolside. We’ve shared several ideas for DIY 4th of July Decorations, patriotic cupcakes and even a red, white and blue frozen ice cream cocktail (yum!), but today I want to make sure your table is in tip-top shape and fully displaying that Americana vibe we all love this time of year.
4th of July Table Decorations
Let’s start with your place settings. There’s a high likelihood your celebration will take place outdoors, so work with the outdoor tables you have. You may want to add a tablecloth and if you do, I suggest keeping it a neutral color like navy or light blue. White is a beautiful option too, but if you’re worried about stains, especially if you’ll have little ones around, I suggest avoiding white on a day filled with popsicles, ketchup and mustard!
This table featured simple white plates wrapped in red linen napkins made to look like a bow. The gold pompom napkin ring (an easy DIY) evokes the feeling of fireworks and works perfectly here! You could also go for these playful patriotic butterfly napkin rings!
I love the eco-friendly wooden cutlery too! You can get a plain set and decorate them yourself with paint, stamps or washi tape or check out Pink Picker Party on Etsy where you can totally customize the colors and patterns (she has some really cute 4th of July wooden cutlery sets too)!
Another beautiful element on this table is the table runner! Check your local fabric store for something similar – or another pattern that speaks to you – and you can just fold the ends under to fit your table – no need to sew!
Patriotic Centerpieces
I think the centerpiece on this table is so much fun! Using a variety of shapes and sizes in red, white and blue, a whole bunch of paper fans and star lanterns were placed on top of the pattered table runner. This is super simple and something you can absolutely recreate because there’s no “wrong” way to do this. My only recommendation is that if it’s a windy day, you may want to use tape to keep the paper fans in place since they’re so light and will easily catch the breeze and blow away!
4th of July Party Inspiration
This cute backyard party also had a few other ideas you may want to consider as you decorate for your event. First, consider designating and decorating a drink station. Opting for navy blue glasses, an American flag swag and red paper honeycombs is an easy way to carry your themed decor to new places.
Finally, it’s always fun to have themed desserts! This party had gorgeous custom sugar cookies from The Cookie Monger along with a simple no-bake dessert – patriotic marshmallow pops!
I hope you found some inspiration for designing a gorgeous 4th of July Tablescape at your upcoming backyard bash! Be sure to Pin this post to your Party Planning board and grab our free Party Planning Checklist for your next big event!
