Christmas is hands down my favorite holiday! December is such a magical time of year and the perfect time to host a party and welcome your friends and family into your home. If you’ve been thinking of hosting a Christmas Open House Party this year, you’ll love the warm and cozy inspiration you’ll find in Amy and Oliver’s holiday gathering. Let’s take a look…
If you’ve ever held or been to a Holiday Open House, you know it’s a relaxing, welcoming Christmas party where guests can come and go during a specific time frame. It’s the perfect format during the busy holiday season because your guests can pop in and leave when they need to and they aren’t committing to spending several hours with you (unless they want to of course)! So grab a warm cup of coffee or tea, download our Party Planning Checklist, and let me help you plan the perfect Christmas Open House party!

Christmas Open House Party Decorations
Amy and Oliver’s holiday party featured classic Christmas decorations, elegant floral arrangements and rich velvet linens which worked together to create a warm and cozy atmosphere for their guests to gather and enjoy their evening together. Erin from Events by Pins & Petals pulled together this beautiful look that guests enjoyed throughout the evening.
The main food table set the stage for the decor with large brass candlesticks, furry white Christmas trees and elegant florals featuring gorgeous flowers in blush and cranberry designed by Busy Bee’s Floral Design. The wooden Merry sign was the perfect nod to festivity too, without being too over-the-top.
Other decor featured the couple’s Christmas village pieces, gold houses with twinkling candles lined the mantle with a lovely holiday-inspired swag and another gorgeous floral arrangement in front of the fireplace helped make the whole home feel festive! This is the perfect opportunity to highlight your favorite Christmas pieces, after all, you only get them out once a year – make the most of them and put them on display!
Holiday Party Food & Drink Inspiration
This Christmas celebration really made a statement with food and drink stations and I’m sure the guests will remember all of the special details for years to come! The holiday season is the perfect time to hire help for your party because it’s always such a crazy busy time of year and there’s no reason you have to do everything yourself. Even if you only hire a bartender, it can make a huge difference and enable you to actually enjoy your own party! Crazy, right?!
Guests at this Christmas Open House enjoyed a variety of delicious food and drink options. From the elaborate grazing table set out on the client’s kitchen counter, to the hand-shucked oysters from Oyster XO, to the Build Your Own Ice Cream Sundae Bar featuring Tucker’s Ice Cream, I can guarantee you no one went home hungry at this party!
There were also several scrumptious options for beverages too! I love all the custom party signs that clearly detail what’s available, don’t you? Guests could choose from a cocktail at the bar or opt for a signature party beverage, which is always a fun touch at events (try this Frosted Cranberry Cocktail at your party). Or for those who prefer something warm on a cold night, an Espresso Bar full of customization options was also available.
Christmas Party Favors
One final thought as you put the finishing touches on your Christmas Party Plan… be sure to have an easy to grab party favor for guests to take on their way out the door. A memorable gift, keepsake ornament, or other special memento is an ideal way to thank guests for spending part of their holiday season with you. Here are a few ideas to consider…
This plantable Christmas Tree Grow Kit with custom label by Nature Favors is a great idea for a party favor that will keep on giving!
Or how about a divine smelling Christmas Candle by Lulu Sugar as a party favor your guests can enjoy all season long?
You could also have some custom mini champagne bottle labels created and make sure your guests are ready to celebrate New Year’s! That’s a party favor I can definitely get behind!
