This season, modern and nontraditional Christmas color combinations have really caught my eye. I’m loving pastels, especially delicate blushes paired with golds and evergreens, like this Contemporary Christmas Tablescape features today! This lovely table features simple and stylish designs I know you’ll be able to grab inspiration from! Scroll away and enjoy this festive and fresh holiday decor.
Contemporary Christmas Tablescape Ideas
Jamie Cargill of Sweetwood Creative Co. was the Event Designer (aka brains) behind this modern take on Christmas colors. She put together a soft color palette mixed with black and white stripes, featuring gold geometric decor from Modlode’s Holiday Collection.
Each place setting was grounded with a large rustic wooden charger, topped with a slightly smaller white charger and a festive holiday plate reminding us what this season is all about: joy! The matte gold silverware compliments all of the gold accents on the plate and throughout the decor perfectly.
The black and white striped table runner adds interest without being overwhelming and serves as the perfect backdrop for the golds and blush colors in the centerpiece to really pop.
Modlode’s geometric name place card holders are so neat, aren’t they? You could slip a custom name card printed on paper, one with hand lettering or use a chalk marker to write their name on an acrylic octagon like they used here. You could also use these as table number holders if you’re hosting a larger event like a wedding – very elegant!
Contemporary Christmas Centerpiece Ideas
Unexpected elements on a table really make a big impact for your guests. That’s why I love the use of Modlode’s geometric sphere to hold the centerpiece on this Christmas tablescape. The combination of the soft white and blush flowers with greenery flowing out of the structured gold piece is a lovely bit of contrast that really catches your eye.
The centerpiece also features traditional Christmas decor like bottle brush trees, lit evergreens and a variety of ornaments, but all in a softer color pallet than you traditionally see. Did you notice the use of the soft blush scarf of the table as well? Love that! Now, just add in a variety of candleholders and your table is all set!
