After praying for a baby for years, Tony and Monica were finally ready to celebrate the arrival of their baby, Cataleya, with friends and family. This fiesta, full of colors, joy and eager anticipation was the ideal baby shower for this sweet couple. Photographed by Lana Tavares of 222 Photography, who was also 6 months pregnant at the time, this Mexican-themed celebration is full of incredible inspiration for your next party! Take a look…

Baby Shower Fiesta Invitations
Baby Cataleya’s shower had a general fiesta theme, but if you like the idea of a Mexican-themed celebration, there are so many cute and creative ways to play into it (other than the common and cute “Taco ’bout a Baby” theme)! I loved this Holy Guacamole invitation I found on Etsy…

Or you could do a Little Muchaco or Little Muchacha invite like these…

Or I thought for a feminine touch, these beautiful floral fiesta-themed invitations would be perfect! And there’s a whole coordinating set of welcome signs, labels, etc. that go with it!
Baby Shower Fiesta Decor
Once your theme is in place, you’ll know how to decorate! Tony and Monica’s shower had all the classic decor elements you’d expect at a fiesta! The feature table, designed by the mom-to-be herself, looked stunning with these brightly colored giant paper flowers and Cataleya’s name spelled our in rose gold balloons!

The tables featured white table cloths with Mexican blanket table runners and glittered Corona bottles with flowers! Isn’t that a fun touch? You can also see that the succulents on the table were used as decoration during the party, but were also sent home with guests as party favors!

Colorful donkey piñatas of all sizes hung over the food table and danced on the tabletops. And papel picados were strung across the tent for a festive touch!

And what’s a baby shower without a diaper cake?! This adorable fiesta themed diaper cake, made by the mom-to-be’s sister, is perfectly decorated with a sombrero, doll, serape fabric and sweet little sandals on top for baby Cataleya.

Baby Shower Fiesta Food and Drinks
Guests enjoyed plenty of delicious traditional food provided by Taquero Ramon. Monica’s father, the grandfather-to-be, proudly served as bartender at the event serving up some killer looking margaritas! Guests could also grab a cold beer from silver buckets placed on the tables. It’s always a great idea to have a self-serve option at bigger parties – it makes your hosting job just a little bit easier!

The cake, designed by Amazing Cakes, featured a border of Mexican-themed flowers and two sonogram images of baby Cataleya. So sweet! If you’re a home baker or just want a themed cake topper to dress up a store-bought cake, I absolutely love this darling Paper Picado cake topper that can be customized with baby’s name!
Baby Shower Fiesta Favors
Finally, in addition to the small succulents, guests were also treated to these precious baby bottle custom cookies, designed by Laura Cabezas-Magana of Balloon Designs and Gifts! Aren’t the fiesta-themed floral details on these perfect?
