There’s no better feeling as a mom than creating a spectacular space for your children to celebrate their birthday with friends. It’s a festive day and deserves special treatment. Willa’s mom Rebecca did an amazing job bringing her Mermaid themed birthday party to life in her home. Let’s explore all the fabulous ideas you can recreate in your own space.
Mermaid Party Decor Ideas
The moment party goers stepped into the space they were greeted with an enormous fishnet installation, full of blue, green and white balloons which had laser lights sparking throughout! The installation gave the illusion of being under water and was an ideal way to set the mood for an Under the Sea party theme!
Other themed decor included this darling Mermaid Tail Happy Birthday Banner and a giant mermaid balloon. Plus, this fun “What’s Your Mermaid Name?” sign was a playful way to capture the girl’s imagination (mine is Ariel Seahorse Drop in case you’re wondering)!
Mermaid Party Food Ideas
What do you serve at a little girl’s mermaid themed birthday party? Goldfish of course! Willa’s guests also enjoyed these colorful Mermaid Cupcakes, which are similar to our very own Under the Sea Mermaid Cupcake Recipe! And all the goodies were served up on Target’s fabulous Mermaid Party Tableware – I just love the “Let’s Shell-abrate” plates and napkins, don’t you?
Mermaid Party Activity Ideas
Willa and her girlfriends were treated to manicures (with aqua colored nail polish of course!) and face painting at the party. And it wasn’t just any face painting, they had fish scales painted onto their cheeks, turning them into beautiful mermaids! Grab some face paint for kids and a fish scale stencil and you’re ready to do the same at your next party!
And best of all, Ariel herself made an appearance and read The Little Mermaid to all the guests! Talk about making your little girl’s mermaid dreams come true!
Mermaid Party Favor Ideas
When all the festivities came to an end, Willa’s guests left with some adorable Under the Sea themed party favors! Each guest took home a copy of The Little Mermaid, a glittery pencil pouch, colorful notepad and hot pink bubble wand, wrapped with darling favor tags that read, “Thank you for making my party SPLASH!”
