Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and if you have kids, you know it means scrambling to send in a whole bunch of little gifts or treats for all the kids in your child’s classroom. Today we have a darling DIY Valentine’s Day Card for you to print at home, pair with a Mandarin orange and create treats the whole class with adore! Keep scrolling for all the details…
One Valentine’s Day tradition I really actually enjoy is coming up with a cute, non-candy, treat for my kids to share with their friends at school. I think by the time the fall holidays conclude, and all the candy associated with them is gone (or has been thrown in the trash by yours truly), the last thing I want to do is buy more candy for Valentine’s Day!
This year I decided to keep things super simple and pair one of my children’s favorite fruits, Cuties (also called Mandarin oranges or clementines), with this darling “Hey Cutie” printable Valentine’s Day card. It’s adorable, easy and gender-neutral. In other words, it checks all the boxes for preschool or school-aged children!
I just added the printable Valentine’s Day card to our Party Printables Library and you can download it – along with a ton of other free party printables – right here ! Let me quickly walk you through this easy DIY Valentine’s Day craft…
DIY Valentine’s Day Card for Kids
1. Gather Your Supplies
First things first, gather your supplies so you have everything on hand when you sit down to make these cute Valentine’s Day treats. You’ll need:
- Cuties (Mandarin Clementine oranges) – one for each student in the class (Note: Have you tried Amazon Fresh‘s Grocery Delivery yet?)
- Card stock for the printables
- Valentine’s Day Card printable file
- Small treat bags
- Ribbon or baker’s twine
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Marker or pen
2. Prepare the Valentine’s Day Cards
Using your printable Valentine’s Day Card for Kids file, print out the number of cards you need on your card stock. The cards are 3 to a page, so you’ll need to cut each one out. Depending on the age of your child, you can address the cards or give the cards to your child to address to their classmates. Finally, use your hold punch to punch a hole in the top left corner of each card.
3. Assemble the Treat BagsĀ
Place one orange in each treat bag and use a piece of baker’s twine to tie the bag shut. Finally, add the card by threading the twine through the hole you punched in the corner and secure it with a bow. And ta-da! Sweet little Valentine’s for school!
I love these healthy Valentine’s Day gifts for school because they’re super easy, simple and friendly. Your kids are sure to love handing them out to all of their friends this year at school!
