Baby showers are one of the most joyous and exciting celebrations to attend or plan! Welcoming a new addition to a family is such a happy event and while there are many baby shower themes to choose from, my favorites are the ones that are personalized for the couple. Today’s featured shower is one of those uniquely special events! Join me as we take a look at all of the darling details of this Bun in the Oven Baby Shower!
Parents Ann and Jonah Bao had been waiting years for God to answer their prayer for a child. When He finally did, they couldn’t wait to celebrate with their loved ones! Their last name, “Bao” is the Vietnamese word for “bun,” so deciding on a Bun in the Oven theme was easy! This gorgeous event was styled and designed by Southern California based, Radleigh + Sage Event Company, and I know you’re going to adore all of the playful details as much as I do!
Bun in the Oven Baby Shower Invitations
The cute invitations designed by The Bridal Press were absolute perfection for the play on words and set the stage for the rest of the baby shower design. In the shape of a bao bun and featuring other dim sum favorites, guests knew to come expecting not only a fun celebration, but a delicious meal as well!
Bun in the Oven Decor Ideas
Beautifully decorated and styled, the main feature area of the baby shower was the dessert table which also doubled as a photo booth for the expectant parents and guests. Immediately your eye is drawn to the stunning balloon installation by The Pop Shop in shades of blue, orange and white hanging from the ceiling (create a similar look at home with this balloon arch kit).
The dessert bar featured large gold balloons spelling out “Oh Baby” and a baby carriage was filled with a stunning floral arrangement also designed by Radleigh + Sage Event Company and was overflowing with balloons! How adorable is the couple in front of this lovely setup?
Guests celebrated with a meal at this beautiful table decorated in blues, oranges and golds. Simple floral arrangements in white ceramic vases lined the center of the tables and each place setting featured a scalloped gold dinner plate set atop a white charger plate. And I just adore the pop of color you get on top of the plate with a fresh persimmon set next to each name card!
Baby Shower Dessert Inspiration
Let’s circle back to that beautiful dessert table one more time and talk about the sweets, shall we?! Guests celebrated with a perfectly themed dim sum shaped cake designed by Cakes by Tricia Faye and delightfully blue cupcakes from Made by Yub. They also enjoyed the most adorable cookies, also from Cakes by Tricia Faye, in the shape of bao buns, dumplings, sio mai and har gow.
Bun in the Oven Party Favors
Finally, to thank their guests for coming and to remind them of this special event, party favors were handed out in mini dim sum steamer baskets. Each guest took home a magnet in the shape of a bao bun with a simple note that said, “You’re all that and dim sum!” How fabulous is that play on words?!
Anytime you can personalize your party theme for the guest of honor, do! As you can see from this special event welcoming Baby Jace, the playful spin on the couple’s last name created the most delightful Bun in the Oven Baby Shower we’ve ever seen! Be sure to Pin this post to your baby shower board and come back to grab inspiration for your next celebration!
