When Calvin turned 3 his parent’s went all out and threw him the most amazing rock and roll themed art party you’ve ever seen! With tons of hands-on art activities, perfectly themed decor and a live band to entertain guests, this Art Rocks Birthday Party is sure to inspire you as you plan your next celebration!

I’m so excited to share our featured party with you today! Combining a love of art with rock and roll works perfectly and this party theme could easily be adapted for almost any age or stage of life. This three-year old was seeing stars because The Coop LA transformed his backyard into an aspiring rock star’s dream! Grab our Party Planning Checklist so you can take notes and then let’s dive into all the amazing party details!
Rock and Roll Party Decorations
Kid sized party tables and chairs were set up on the lawn in the backyard in front of a statement dessert table with feature wall reading “Calvin Rocks.” Bright pops of yellow for the chairs looked great with the reds, blues and greens in the balloons and centerpieces. Speaking of centerpieces, playing on the rock and roll theme, miniature drum sets and records lined each kid’s table, while colorful confetti and florals lined the center of the adult’s tables.

Each place setting used a record as a base and colorful star plates and napkins topped with another silver star plate and a custom rock and roll themed sugar cookie.

Other special elements included the giant “Calvin Rocks” balloons over the pool and the elaborate photo booth which later doubled as the stage for the band. A silver tassel backdrop with record garlands captured the feel of the party and the giant balloons on either side with the sparkly blue “3” balloon in the center looked great in pictures! How cute does Calvin look up on stage with his balloon guitar?

Art Rocks Dessert & Drink Inspiration
Guests enjoyed a variety of sweet treats at the party and fresh drinks, all served in style. I love the repetition of the miniature drum set and use of the record as a sign at the drink station. Plus the straws served in a disco ball cup are so cool, right?!

The details on the dessert table are amazing too! How much fun is the David Bowie / Ziggy Stardust garland?! Records are used again as signs, disco balls fill acrylic stands for the cupcakes and the cake, designed by Blue Cupcake, is a total show-stopper!

Art Rocks Activities & Favors
There was no shortage of things to do at this birthday party either! From classic party activities like face painting and bounce houses to one-of-a-kind experiences like spinning record painting art and wooden guitar bejeweling (find wooden electric guitars here) this kids (and likely grown ups too) had a blast!

Plus, Calvin and his friends enjoyed a super special appearance by one of his favorite rock star groups, The Beat Buds! I imagine it was a pretty special time for the three year old!

Finally, guests went home with these perfectly themed favor bags with a musical note and enjoyed a variety of favors found throughout the party – guitar sunglasses, guitar balloons, sparkly silver microphones and tambourines just to name a few!

This elaborate art-themed rock and roll birthday party is full of coordinated details, decor, desserts and activities! I hope it’s inspired you to create something really special for your next celebration! Be sure to Pin this post to your Party Planning board so you can come back for more!
