If there are two things that kids love, it’s Jello and Legos! That’s why I absolutely love this colorful and fun treat for a Lego Themed Birthday Party! These Jello Lego Bricks and Miniatures are bright, jiggly and taste great! Whether you’re making them for a snack for an afternoon playdate or for the dessert table at your next party, here are all of the details on what you need and how to make Jello Legos!
I love a simple, easy to make party snack and these Jello Legos definitely fall into that category! Plus, when your kids and party guests see the bright colors in lego form, they’ll go crazy because they’re totally fun! Let’s get started, okay?
Jello Lego Supplies
You only need a few things to make these treats:
- Lego Silicone Molds
- 5 different 3-oz flavors of Jell-O
- Gelatin Packets (2 per 1 box of Jello; I used 10 packets)
- Corn Syrup
Jello Lego Directions
1. In a 1 cup measuring cup, measure ½ cup of ice-cold water. Squeeze a ¼ cup of Corn Syrup directly into the water.
The measuring cup should now read ¾ cup, with ½ cup water and ¼ cup of corn syrup.
Mix together until clear.
2. Add the mixture in a medium size sauce pan. Add 2 packets of gelatin and 1 box of Jello and mix well.
You will see clumps of gelatin/Jello, and that’s okay.
3. Over LOW heat (NO hotter) slowly heat up the mixture. While the mixture is heating up, take a rubber spatula and press down and slide those clumps to the bottom of the pan to help them dissolve. Keep doing that until all the clumps are gone. While stirring constantly, continue to heat the mixture for 10-12 minutes or until the Jello/gelatin is dissolved and the mixture is somewhat clear.
4. Remove from heat and pour the mixture into a glass measuring cup. Let it sit and cool for 3-5 minutes. This will allow any of the gelatin mixture to rise to the top.
Scrape off the cloudy mixture and discard. Doing this will allow for a clearer Lego.
5. Pour the mixture into your Lego molds. Repeat the same process for the remaining Jello flavors. Place your molds into the refrigerator until solid. I left mine in for 3-4 hours. The longer you leave them in the fridge, the less sticky they will be.
6. Pop the Legos out of the molds. The easiest way is to just bend the mold and pull the Jello Lego out.
And that’s it! You’re done! Eat the legos right away or refrigerate them in a container for up to a week (if you’re making them for a party, plan ahead – you don’t want to be making these the day of the event)!
