February 29th only comes around ever four years, which we think calls for a celebration! That’s right, Leap Year will be here before you know it and it’s the perfect time to establish a new family tradition or gather some of your children’s friends and celebrate in style! And what’s a better mascot or theme for a Leap Year party than a frog?! Here are 13 of our favorite ideas for a Fantastic Frog Themed Leap Year Party!
Leap Year happens every four years when the century year is divisible by four (e.g., 2000) and an extra day is added to our calendar so that we stay synchronized with the the seasons or solar year. Interestingly, it was Julius Caesar who first identified we’d have a problem if every year was 365 days, but it took a while, and the help of a Pope, to finally get the calendar worked out to what we use today!
An extra day in February though is reason enough to celebrate for me! And the idea of a frog themed Leap Year party – whether it’s just for the kids and their friends or for someone with a Leap Year Birthday – has us jumping for joy! Here are several ideas for Leap Year party decorations, foods and favors!
