One of my favorite First Birthday Party themes is a ONEderland theme! This versatile party works well for a little boy or a little girl and depending on the season, you have options! In winter, you can create a Winter ONEderland and at other times of the year you can opt for an Alice in ONEderland party like we’re sharing today! Your little one’s world is absolutely full of awe and wonder and this whimsical party captures that free spirit so well! Join me for a detailed look at this precious milestone birthday party filled with teapots, flowers, greenery and joy!

Alice in ONEderland Party Ideas
For Riley’s 1st Birthday, mom Katie created a magical tea party for all of her little friends! The party’s theme, “Riley in ONEderland” was inspired by the childhood classic, Alice in Wonderland. Hosted at the adorable bakery, The Sweet Praxis, located in downtown Syracuse, NY, guests enjoyed an afternoon of delightful treats! Let’s take a look at the decor and sweets to inspire your own Alice in Wonderland tea party!

ONEderland Decoration Ideas
This ONEderland party’s decorations centered around the beautiful table designed and decorated by She Rents Vintage, who also provided the unique vintage chairs surrounding the table. The whimsical tablescape was built upon an earthy green moss table runner and featured antique storybooks, delicate rabbits and china teacups. A great reminder that a child’s birthday can be a sophisticated affair too!

At each place setting, guests found their very own personalized china tea-cup! The tea cups featured each child’s name hand painted on the front and they used them during the party then took them home as party favors. Such a sweet idea!

Another fun treat for the children were these playful Alice in Wonderland themed top hats! They were waiting for guests as they arrived and the children enjoyed wearing them throughout the party. You can get your own set of personalized Mad Hatter hats on Etsy for your party too!

Another easy and fun Alice in ONEderland themed tea party decoration idea is to place your flowers in teapots instead of vases. We love this pink teapot decorating this treat table!

Another First Birthday Party decor idea we adore is the Monthly Photo Banner! Children grow so much that first year and it’s a wonderful reminder of how far your little one has come! This photo banner hangs between the window frame above a buffet table of desserts! Here’s a floral monthly photo banner that would be perfect for your tea party!

Another sweet detail at this party was the unique way signs and menus were displayed – on antique mirrors! The talented Elizabeth Hudson, from Paper Crane Calligraphy hand lettered these beauties.

ONEderland Dessert Ideas
During the birthday party, the children colored, played with balloons and enjoyed finger sandwiches and plenty of sweet treats provided by The Sweet Praxis. Macarons, Alice in Wonderland themed sugar cookies, cupcakes with paper flower toppers (find those darling cupcake toppers here)… these kids got a little taste of everything! If you’re a DIY type of mom, you won’t want to miss our Alice in Wonderland Cupcakes – they’d be perfect for this party theme!

The lovely pink birthday cakes were created by The Cake Shop CNY and Riley enjoyed every minute she spent with her smash cake! We just love the teacup filled with flowers for the cake topper – easy and elegant!

Overall, this was such a fun way for family and friends to to celebrate Riley’s first year of life! Happy First Birthday, ONEderful one! Be sure to Pin this post for later party planning!
