One of our family’s favorite things to do when the weather finally turns cooler in Texas is to have s’mores! My husband starts a roaring fire in the fire pit in the backyard and the kids gather around with marshmallows on their sticks and we get creative with our toppings! So whether you want to do the same with your family in the backyard, host a S’mores Party for the neighbors, or add a S’mores Bar to your next party – or even your wedding – we’re walking you through everything you need to set up a S’mores Bar your crowd will love!
How to Set Up a S’mores Bar
The cooler fall weather and the pine trees in our backyard inspired this lumberjack themed S’mores Bar with red and black Buffalo plaid! I first spotted the plaid napkins in Hobby Lobby’s Christmas section and thought they’d be just perfect for this (you can also find them here)! I grabbed a couple of them for the base of my table – a table runner or even a scarf with the colors you prefer would work great too.
Setting up a S’mores Bar is really about displaying all of the delicious ingredients in an easy to grab way. I already had the distressed white caddy with the chalkboard front and I knew it would be perfect for setting out the marshmallows and two types of graham crackers – honey and cinnamon! I found a similar farmhouse inspired caddy here, it’s just missing the chalkboard front (which you could add with paint).
I already had these bright green cocktail napkins from a previous party and they were the perfect compliment to the bottle brush trees on the other side of the table. Repeating pops of colors across your table is an easy way to make sure your look is pulled together.
I used a chalk marker to write “Let’s Party S’more!” on my caddy. I tell you what, I’ve used this 3-section caddy more than I ever thought I would! It’s great for setting out knives, spoons and forks at large gatherings and I love that I can write a cute saying on it that goes with the theme of whatever party we’re hosting.
Also crucial for your S’mores Bar Setup is a gourmet S’mores menu! I had fun creating different ways to combine chocolate and other sweet treats as I put this together (I mean what’s a better excuse to use caramel sauce and Nutella?!)! I think my favorite is the Salted Caramel S’mores!
We added this printable to our Party Printables Library and you can download it for free for your party! We made the background white so you can print it on whatever colored paper suits your event. I printed mine out and put it into a frame to set on the table – super easy!
I also found this darling distressed white antler horn tray at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas section. I think it ties in perfectly to our lumberjack theme and makes the perfect place to display all of our s’mores candy options!
Party Tip: This is a great party to host after Halloween to use up all of the leftover Halloween candy at one time! 🙂
I also love incorporating a party banner whenever I can! This plaid ribbon banner strung with twine, was the perfect compliment to the front of the s’mores table. I used conifer tree cutouts from our Party Printables Library to add another pop of bright green to the banner.
I think these tree cutouts would also look great as name cards or as cards to describe various food on a feature table – just attach a wooden cake pop stick or skewer to the back and they’d stand up great!
I hope you enjoyed our lumberjack themed S’mores Bar with red and black plaid! Be sure to get the tree cutouts and the S’mores menu printable from our library too!
