Our family loves to travel and we’re always talking about how we don’t do it near enough. When my husband was in the military, our traveling was either moving to a new destination or to go see family. We’ve lived in and seen some amazing places and travel is in our blood. So when I heard PLAYMOBIL was celebrating their 40th Anniversary with some travel around the world, I was so excited.
Meet Tim the Traveler who is currently traveling the world. Fans around the world are hosting Tim in their hometown or country, showing him around and photographing him as he discovers new places. What a lucky guy!
The first recipient was Floridian Richard Silvano, a PLAYMOBIL collector for over 35 years. Not only is he a collector, but the initiator of PLAYMOBIL’s Collector’s Club.
“My wife Susan and I really wanted to participate in this fun PCC project,” Richard said. Unsurprisingly, he was thrilled when “little Timmy” – as he affectionately calls him – arrived safe and sound in Fort Lauderdale. Richard and Susan couldn’t wait to take the little figure on a sightseeing tour through their home town. “It’s a wonderful story; A 3 inch (75mm) ambassador traveling around the world bringing goodwill to children and adults!”
Where is Tim now?
You can follow along on his adventures through the PLAYMOBIL’s Anniversary microsite. I see he’s been to places in Australia, Thailand, Japan and Atlanta, Georgia. What a fun job he has. 😉
