When Hudson turned eight his parents threw an elaborate but small backyard party for a small group of family at their home. Still mindful of social distancing, but wanting to see friends, Hudson celebrated with a car parade before the festivities kicked off outside. Safari Car Parade
This party happened several months ago and perhaps birthday car parades are beginning to die down, but the backdrop for Hudson’s party was stunning, right? The lush green backdrop was decorated with a gorgeous green balloon garland designed by Bijoux Balloons and featured a hanging monkey and a life-sized baby giraffe!
Hudson had a great time greeting and taking pictures with his friends and passed out party favors in animal print bags as guests drove by.
Safari Party Decoration Ideas
The party was hosted in Hudson’s backyard, with the clear focal point the fabulous balloon installation flowing from the giant palm tree in the center of the yard. A custom birthday sign and teepees decorated with greenery completed the perfect spot for a photo op! Guest tables were created with wood pallets surrounded by blankets and cushions for low seating. I just love this easy and playful setup, don’t you?
The tables were decorated with a simple gauze table runner, a fern as the centerpiece and animal print plates and napkins to tie into the theme. The burlap utensil holders with wooden cutlery was the perfect way to top off the design too!
Safari Food, Drink & Dessert Inspiration
Guests at this birthday party were well fed! Delicious trays and grazing boards from Graze + Gather Co. provided plenty of options and desserts from B.R. Sweets with animal print icing and palm leaves were perfectly tied into the theme.
And how about this fantastic drink station? I just love the adorable sign and the special details like the green snake and the elephant holding a lantern! This party had plenty of options for the grown ups as well as the kids and everyone could partake in a fun coconut cup, animal print straw or festive umbrella for their drink!
