If you’re looking for inspiration for your next milestone birthday party, we have a gorgeous 21st Birthday Party Idea to share with you today! When Katie turned 21, her mom, Traci Goshen, planned a marble and blush yacht party for her daughter. All aboard as we walk you through the details of this friends and family filled 21st birthday soirée where they danced the night away!
The setting for Katie’s 21st Birthday Party was this stunning yacht from the fleet of Charter Yachts of Newport Beach. Now you may not live on the coast in California, but if you’re near a lake or a river, renting a boat for a party can be a great idea for an unexpected and fun celebration location.
Guests were greeted by this elegant welcome sign reminding them this was the day “Princess Katie” was born. We love the jumbo confetti filled balloon here (recreate the look at home using these confetti balloons).
The decor on the yacht featured marble tablecloths and blush accents with touches of sliver and personalized photos. The light pink combined with the gray and white marble is not only a modern decor choice, but also light and fresh perfectly complimenting the ocean setting.
Let’s talk about this dessert table! Covered in a marble tablecloth, the pink candy bar really popped and was a hit of the party! We also love the pink marble balloons that keep that festive feeling going throughout the yacht. At the other end of the dessert table the bowl full of cookies, adorned with a “K” for Katie and a “Thank You” acted as the perfect 21st Birthday Party favor.
Party Tip: Planning a DIY candy bar? Glass canisters, like this set of apothecary jars, filled with a variety of candies in one or two colors, keep the look cohesive and modern. You can even finish it off with a darling pink and gold “Candy Bar” banner.
Cinderella Cakes provided Katie’s exquisite marble and blush cake embellished with white and pink roses. I think the marble layer is a show stopper! And of course at any milestone birthday, you have to have a special cake topper! The silver “twenty-one” was an elegant addition to the top of the cake. (You can find a similar 21st birthday cake topper here for your party.)
Katie’s mom Traci thought of all the important details too… we just love the basket of “Dancing Shoes” and the festive shot photographer Frances Tang of Frances Tang Photography caught of all the shoes abandoned under the table.
Thank you Katie and Traci for sharing your fun, family and friends-filled 21st Birthday Party with us!
