The Thanksgiving holiday is centered around family and with a whole week off from school, I can’t think of a better time to involve your kids in Thanksgiving dessert prep, can you?! If you’ve been looking for cute Thanksgiving dessert ideas that also double as a Thanksgiving craft (brilliant, right?), we have the perfect recipe for you… Thanksgiving Oreo Turkeys!

Southern Living has an easy to follow video detailing the whole process and ingredient list, but we’ve broken it down for you step by step below (and the entire video is at the end of the post too). You’ll be thrilled that something so simple produces such adorable results!
Ingredients
- Oreos
- Candy Corns
- Mini Peanut Butter Cups
- Whoppers
- Brown Chocolate Frosting
- Yellow Icing
- Red Decorating Gel
- Tiny Round Chocolates (or use the brown frosting – see below)
Instructions
Step 1: Put Chocolate Frosting on 1/4 of the Oreo

Step 2: Stick 5 Candy Corns into the Frosting for the Turkey’s Tail

Step 3: Add Chocolate Frosting to the Base of a 2nd Oreo

Step 4: Attach the 2 Oreos Together as Shown

Step 5: Add Chocolate Frosting at the Base of the Tail as Shown

Step 6: Slice the Edge Off of a Mini Peanut Butter Cup

Step 7: Attach the Mini Peanut Butter Cup to the Oreo Where You Applied the Frosting

Step 8: Add More Chocolate Frosting in Front of the Peanut Butter Cup

Step 9: Place a Whopper On Top of the Frosting

Step 10: Put a Small Dab of Chocolate Frosting on the Whopper

Step 11: Slice the End Off Your Candy Corn

Step 12: Attach Your Candy Corn Beak to the Frosting

Step 13: Use Yellow Frosting to Make Your Turkey’s Eyes

Step 14: Add Small Chocolate Candies for Eyes (or use a tiny dab of chocolate frosting)

Step 15: Draw Feet for Your Turkey with the Yellow Frosting

Step 16: Use the Red Decorating Gel to Add a Wattle

And you’re done! Set all of your Oreo Turkey’s out on a cake plate or a tray on your Thanksgiving Dessert table!
