Cake Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and coat your cake pan with non-stick spray or butter or place your cupcake liners in your cupcake pan (you can bake the cake mix either way since you’ll be crumbling it up later).
  2. Using a large bowl, beat together the cake mix, milk, butter and eggs until combined and smooth.
  3. Add your batter to your cake pan or cupcake pan.
  4. Place in the oven and bake as directed on the box.
  5. Remove from the oven once done and allow the cake to cool completely.
  6. Once the cake has cooled, remove it from the pan or cupcake liners and crumble it into a large mixing bowl.
  7. Once all the the cake has been crumbled into a moist, sand-like texture, add about ¼ – ½ cup of the chocolate frosting and mix it together thoroughly until a dough like mixture forms. Set it aside.
Cakesicle Assembly
  1. Pour half of your white chocolate wafers into a microwave safe bowl and using a microwave, melt the white chocolate in 30 second increments, mixing after each time to ensure smooth, even melting of the white chocolate.
  2. Once the white chocolate is melted, spoon about 1-2 tbsp of the melted chocolate into the cakesicle molds. Move the cakesicle mold around, tilting it from side to side, ensuring the sides are coated in the white chocolate (see picture in post for details).
  3. Carefully push in the popsicle stick into the bottom of the cakesicle mold and then place the molds into the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to set.
  4. Once the chocolate is set, remove them from the refrigerator and take about 1-2 tbsp of the cake mixture and carefully press it into the molds, making sure the sides of the chocolate does not break.
  5. Next, remelt the white chocolate and spoon about 1-2 tbsps of the chocolate onto the top and sides of the cake mixture in each mold.
  6. Place the molds back into the refrigerator for another 30 minutes.
Cakesicle Decorating
  1. Remove the cakesicle molds from the refrigerator and carefully remove each cakesicle from the mold, placing each on the wire rack for decorating.
  2. Melt more white chocolate and place it into your piping bag, cutting off the tip of the bag.
  3. Drizzle lines of chocolate across the cakesicles where you want the sprinkles. Pour your sprinkles on top and then add some chocolate to the back of the snowflakes, placing them on your cakesicles where desired.
  4. Let the cakesicles sit until the chocolate hardens and then enjoy!
