T Section Highlights vs Half Head vs Full Head: UK Prices
T section (£85), half head (£112) or full head (£129) at Rush: what each one covers, who it suits and what six months of upkeep costs.

Balayage vs Highlights: UK Prices, Upkeep and Which to Book
The visit prices sit £5 apart at Rush, so the year decides it: about £486 to £648 of balayage against £680 to £1,021 of highlights.

Grey Blending: What to Ask For, UK Prices and How Often to Go
Rush has no women's service called grey blending. What to book instead, and when blending costs less than covering roots.

Rush Hair Reviews: What 3,237 Trustpilot Ratings Tell You
What 3,237 Trustpilot ratings and the latest 19 complaints say, the add-ons that raise a bill and how refunds work.
Rush hair salons are a UK chain of hairdressers that opened its first salon in Wimbledon in 1994 and now lists 76 salon pages on its website, most in London and the surrounding counties. A ladies cut and finish starts at £61, and new clients can book half price at selected salons until 30 November.
For a first visit, the code matters more than the salon. On our arithmetic, a full head of highlights with a toner and a cut costs £218 at the starting prices of Rush hair salons and about £109 with NEWBIE50, but only where the salon takes part in the offer.
Rush hair salons at a glance
Rush describes itself as “over 50 salons nationwide” on its affiliate programme page, and says its Artistic Team has won 16 British Hairdressing Awards since 1999. Its own sitemap carries more: 76 salon pages, including separate beauty salons in Croydon and Windsor, grouped into 16 region pages.
Are Rush hair salons good? Rush holds a 4.4 TrustScore from 3,237 reviews on Trustpilot, with 66% of ratings at five stars and 26% at one star. That split matters more than the average: about one reviewer in four rated a visit one star. Our Rush hair review codes the latest complaints by theme and covers Rush’s refund rules.
Rush hairdressers take bookings online or by phone, and every Rush salon is cashless.

How much do Rush hair salons charge?
Rush hair salons charge from £61 for a ladies cut and finish, £85 for T-section highlights, £129 for a full head of highlights and £134 for balayage, according to Rush’s service pages in October 2026. A toner (£28 with colour), Olaplex and hair past the shoulder (£17) cost extra.
| Service | From | Time at Rush |
|---|---|---|
| Children’s cut | £29 | 30 to 45 minutes |
| Gents blend-away greys | £46 | about 30 minutes |
| Ladies cut and finish | £61 | about 45 minutes |
| Regrowth colour | £61 | about 1 hour 15 minutes |
| Gloss | £61 | about 1 hour |
| Full head colour | £72 | about 1 hour 30 minutes |
| T-section highlights | £85 | about 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Half head highlights | £112 | about 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Full head highlights | £129 | about 2 hours |
| Balayage | £134 | about 1 hour 45 minutes |
| Keratin smoothing | £210 to the shoulder, £240 past it | varies |
These are starting prices. Rush’s FAQ says every price is confirmed at the consultation, and toners and Olaplex sit outside the listed colour prices, so a colour booking can come in above the figure in the table. Which size of highlights to book is the bigger cost decision, and the highlights size comparison prices it out.
Which Rush offer saves the most?
For a new client, the Rush new client offer, NEWBIE50, saves the most: half price services at selected salons, booked online, until 30 November. Returning clients get 50% off colour with a cut and finish through AUTUMN, or on Tuesdays through COLOUR50, and students get 25% off the whole bill every visit.
We priced one booking under each: a full head of highlights (£129), a toner (£28) and a ladies cut and finish (£61), £218 at list price.

- NEWBIE50: about £109, if your salon takes part.
- AUTUMN: about £153.50. Half price applies to the colour; we have assumed the toner is charged in full, which Rush’s wording does not settle.
- Student 25%: £163.50, with a valid student card.
- Rush Rewards: one point per £1, worth £12.50 per 250 points, so about 5% back on whatever you pay.
Rush does not say whether codes combine, so plan on one per booking. Two smaller offers round out the list: BEAUTY30 gives new clients 30% off a facial or massage until 29 November, and a recommended friend gets £20 off a first visit, with £20 off for you too.
Does Rush do an NHS discount? Not at the moment. The seven offers on Rush’s offers pages on 19 October 2026 were new-client, new-client beauty, autumn, colour Tuesday, student, recommend-a-friend and rebooking points, with nothing for NHS or key workers.
Rush salons by region
Rush groups its salons into 16 regions. The towns below are those listed on each region page in October 2026, and the region links open Rush’s own salon list for booking. The Yorkshire page did not load for us, so York is taken from its salon page.
- Central London
King’s Cross, Kensington, Moorgate, Strand, Kentish Town, West Hampstead, Westfield Stratford - Greater London
Wimbledon, Putney, Balham, Chiswick, Ealing, Greenwich, Hammersmith, Crystal Palace, Kingston - Surrey
Guildford, Epsom, Richmond, Croydon, Sutton, Reigate, Redhill, Dorking, Walton-on-Thames - Sussex
Brighton, Crawley, Worthing, Horsham, Chichester, East Grinstead - Kent
Bromley, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge - Essex
Chelmsford, Basildon, Ilford, Lakeside - Middlesex
Harrow, Staines - Berkshire
Windsor, Maidenhead - Buckinghamshire
High Wycombe - Hertfordshire
Watford - Hampshire
Southampton - Cambridgeshire
Cambridge - Leicestershire
Leicester - Nottinghamshire
Nottingham - Greater Manchester
Manchester - Yorkshire
York
Liverpool and Bristol have salon pages of their own, at Rush Liverpool and Rush Bristol. The region lists add up to fewer salons than the 76 salon pages, so a town missing above may still have one.
Before you book at Rush
Five house rules from Rush’s FAQ shape a first visit, and two of them cost money if missed:
- Colour consultations are free and booked by phone. The final price is confirmed there.
- A skin test is needed at least 48 hours before colour if you are new to salon colour or have had none in six months, and it has to be done at the salon you are booking.
- Colour clients must be 16 or over.
- You can reschedule up to 24 hours before; a missed appointment costs £25.
- Rush gives no cash refunds, and any problem with a service has to be raised within 14 days.
NEWBIE50 is the date to plan around. A new client who books online at a participating salon before 30 November pays half; after that, the table above is the price unless Rush renews the code, so check that your salon takes part before you choose the service.
