A time-honored traditional celebration for Latin American girls, a Quinceañera is a special 15th birthday celebration signifying the transition from childhood into young womanhood. What caught our eye about Vanessa’s Quinceañera is that she chose to break from the traditional color palette of soft pinks and golds, instead opting for a vibrant Emerald Green Themed Party! Join us as we take a look inside her jewel toned birthday celebration, which is full of gorgeous details, decor and desserts!
Non-Traditional Quinceañera Decor
Vanessa was excited about celebrating her Quinceañera with her family and close friends and she played a significant role in the party planning process. She and her mother Dina, spent three months working with Elisa Yu-Shan Lion from Exceptional Events by Elisa, to plan and design every single detail of her memorable celebration. Vanessa was clear from the beginning that she wanted a modern twist on the traditional Quinceañera colors and decor and chose Emerald Green as her primary color. Just look at her in that dress – stunning!
As design and decor choices were made, they decided to pair the emerald green with whites and touches of gold to maintain the elegance of the occasion. The party’s theme was simple and elegant with modern décor, the perfect combination to bring Vanessa’s vision to life!
The guest’s tables featured emerald green table cloths with modern charger plates, tall geometric metal gold bases for the centerpieces designed by Petalos DC and gold chairs. The head table was the opposite with a sparkly gold tablecloth and gorgeous green plates and napkins wrapped with gold napkin rings.
Flowing vines and greenery were used throughout the party, draping the welcome sign, Vanessa’s name and lining the head table along with an abundance of candles to add sophisticated ambiance to the room that evening.
Quinceañera Food Ideas
Vanessa and Dina selected a diverse menu to satisfy their guests including an American selection of courses that included a mix of greens, steak, chicken, rice and roasted vegetables and to honor her Peruvian roots, Peruvian appetizers and mini desserts were served before and after the plated dinner. The food, catered by Zesty Gourmet, looks delicious, doesn’t it?
Quinceañera Cake Ideas
Why have one birthday cake when you can have two?! Vanessa knows how to celebrate, doesn’t she? The cakes, designed by Sussy’s Cakes and Le Cake Boutique both featured her signature emerald green color. Her green and gold cake topped with a gold tiara was surrounded by a canopy of delicate sheer fabric and greenery, while her second cake was placed on a modern dessert cart draped in greenery. In addition to the cakes, guests enjoyed the delicious green treats on the dessert cart, which included cake pops, cupcakes, deluxe chocolate covered apples and chocolate covered Oreo cookies.
Vanessa is passionate about dancing so she and her Royal Court gifted her guests with three choreographed dances including “Marinera,” a traditional Peruvian Folklore Dance. Doesn’t the birthday girl look beautiful in her bold blue dress, dancing for her guests? And you can’t forget the father-daughter dance!
We hope you enjoyed this bold and brightly colored Quinceañera as much as we did! It’s proof that breaking with tradition can be a great choice for party decor! Be sure to Pin this post for later party planning!
